Climate change and carbon footprint are phrases that have suddenly crept into our everyday language.
We know that more people are becoming concerned about their impact on the environment.
At Buccleuch John Sale we take these concerns seriously and are undergoing a major review of our "green credentials" as we know that it matters to many of our customers. We aim to be the UK's first carbon neutral estate agency and chartered surveying business.
Our New Homes division has introduced our unique "Green Key Homes" scheme. For every home we sell we guarantee to make a contribution to help offset your carbon emissions for one year. This will be done through new tree planting projects in Scotland or in re-afforestation projects overseas and will include tree planting activities with local schools.
Our parent company the Buccleuch Group, through it's forestry business, is already working with some household names like Marks & Spencer on carbon offset projects. We plan to do more with some of our other green partners such as charities Global Trees and the Woodland Trust. We also give you a native tree sapling for your new garden. Through the Energy Saving Trust we can help you access a simple home energy audit questionnaire. Some of our staff have worked through the audit and have identified easy energy cost savings that they can do at home.
It's a clich, but at Buccleuch John Sale we really are trying to "think globally and act locally".
